Disney and Lucasfilm's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens around much of the world on Thursday December 17th and Friday December 18th. So far there's been no early press screenings beyond a nine minute IMAX reel played for select press over the past few weeks.
This means the first screening outside the studio will be the Los Angeles world premiere on the night of Monday December 14th. Press in attendance at both this and the scant few other early media screenings there are around the world before release are under a global embargo on reviews. Said embargo is reportedly scheduled to lift at midnight US-PST on December 16th.
For those hoping to avoid any spoilers in regards to the film, you won't have to worry about the lure of reviews until Wednesday this coming week. That said, this coming Tuesday the 15th may prove a hazard as non-press in attendance at the L.A. premiere are perfectly free to talk about their reaction to the film on social media following its wrap at around 9:45pm US-PST on Monday the 14th.
